The key points (plain-language summary — not legally operative)
- A Slot Booking reserves an appointment time — it is not a payment. When a Deal unlocks, Candyll issues your Deal Pass; you then choose an open time from the Merchant's published availability, and your booking is confirmed immediately — there is no Merchant approval step. Candyll never charges you.
- You pay the Merchant directly, at the store, at your visit. Candyll processes no payment for any Slot Booking.
- You see the full terms before you book. Before your booking is made, Candyll shows you the Merchant, the service, the date, time, duration and location, the price, any mandatory fees, how tax is handled, the cancellation, rescheduling and no-show rules, and what happens if the Merchant cancels — and you can go back and correct anything before you confirm.
- Your booking is recorded as a fixed, durable copy. When you book, Candyll stores an immutable snapshot of exactly those terms and keeps it available to you on your Deal Pass — in the app and on the website, to read, print or download. A notification is only an alert, never the copy itself, and a later Merchant edit never changes a booking you already confirmed.
- Free, easy cancellation. You can cancel within the stated window at no cost. To reschedule, cancel and book a new time.
- Missing your appointment costs nothing. There is no charge for a no-show, because you never paid Candyll. Repeated no-shows may temporarily limit new bookings (reliability controls only — never automatic account suspension).
- A Deal Pass for a Slot Booking is not money and not a BPCPA prepaid purchase card. It is proof of eligibility for the described appointment, carries no funds, and is never sold to you.
1. What these Terms cover; how they fit together
1.1 These Slot Booking Terms describe what a Slot Booking is, what Candyll discloses before you book, the immutable booking-contract snapshot Candyll records, and the cancellation, rescheduling and no-show rules. They form part of the Terms of Service and use its defined terms. 1.2 A "Slot Booking" is a Deal that requires you to select a specific appointment time (`requires_slot`). A Slot Booking creates a legal commitment for a described service at a described time before you attend. 1.3 Where these Slot Booking Terms and the Deal Pass Terms both apply, the Deal Pass Terms govern what the Deal Pass is (no-value eligibility credential; pay-at-store), and these Slot Booking Terms govern the pre-booking disclosure, the booking-contract snapshot, and the cancellation/reschedule/no-show rules for appointments. 1.4 Candyll's role vs the Merchant's. Candyll is responsible for its own booking interface and records — the information it displays as supplied through the system, your affirmative acceptance, input correction, the booking-contract snapshot, the terms version, your durable copy, and cancellation access. The Merchant is responsible for the accuracy of the service information, availability, delivering the service, professional qualifications, its own cancellations and refunds, the payment you make at the store, tax, and service quality. Candyll does not guarantee that the Merchant will perform any booking. 1.5 How a Slot Booking is made — automatic confirmation; no Merchant approval step. When a Deal unlocks, Candyll issues your Deal Pass. You then view the Merchant's published open slots, select one, review the information in section 2, correct anything that is wrong, and take the affirmative "Agree & book" step. At that moment capacity is reserved and your booking is confirmed immediately. There is no Merchant approval step, no waiting period, and no state in which your booking is held as a request pending the Merchant's acceptance. By publishing a slot as open, the Merchant gives its advance authorization to accept any qualifying Customer who books that slot — the Merchant does not review, accept, or decline your booking afterwards. The booking for the service is formed between you and the Merchant on the terms displayed; Boryne Labs Ltd. (operating as 'Candyll') provides the booking platform and the booking records, does not provide the service, and does not receive the payment.
2. Pre-contract disclosure (BPCPA-aligned) — what you see before you book
Before your Slot Booking is made, and in a form you can review and accept, Candyll discloses:
- (a) Merchant identity — the Merchant's registered legal name where the Merchant has filed one with Candyll (and a clear note where it has not), its operating or trade name, and its service address (the Merchant is the supplier of the service); for a regulated service, the licence details Candyll holds for that Merchant;
- (b) Service description — what the appointment is for;
- (c) Date, time and duration — the appointment window and its length;
- (d) Location — where the service is provided;
- (e) Price — the Candyll Group Price for the appointment, in CAD, which you pay the Merchant at the store; it is the only price shown, and no regular, comparison, percentage-off, or savings figure is displayed;
- (f) Mandatory fees — any fees you must pay; Candyll charges no platform fee to you;
- (g) Tax basis — that applicable government sales taxes are charged by the Merchant at the store, not by Candyll;
- (h) Cancellation rules — the free-cancellation window;
- (i) Rescheduling rules — how to move your appointment (cancel before the cancellation deadline and book a new time);
- (j) No-show rules — that a missed appointment is not charged, and how reliability controls apply;
- (k) Merchant contact — the Merchant's phone number or email address, so you can reach the Merchant directly about your appointment;
- (l) Party size — the number of people your booking covers, and any capacity or attendance restriction on the slot;
- (m) Late-arrival rule — what happens if you arrive late, including any grace period the Merchant allows and when a late arrival may be treated as a missed appointment;
- (n) Complaint and dispute route — how to raise a problem: with the Merchant first for the service itself, and with Candyll at customersupport@candyll.com for your Deal Pass, your booking record, or a recorded use, including your right to dispute a recorded use or a missed-appointment record;
- (o) Who you are contracting with — that the service booking is between you and the Merchant, that the Merchant is the supplier and the party you pay, and that Candyll — the platform operated by Boryne Labs Ltd. — acts only in the limited role described in sections 1.4 and 1.5;
- (p) If the Merchant cancels — that a Merchant may cancel only through the Platform and only with a reason; that you are told right away, with the reason; that the Deal Pass for that appointment is voided while your durable copy stays available; that your place is released so you can book another time, and the Merchant must offer an alternative where one exists; that Candyll may instead restore your Deal Pass onto another time or extend how long it stays valid; that a Merchant cancellation is never treated as your no-show and never affects your reliability standing; and that no money moves, because none ever did (section 5.3);
- (q) Eligibility and usage restrictions — the limits recorded for this Deal, such as that the Deal Pass is issued to your account, is single-use and is not transferable unless the Merchant expressly allows it, that it is not stored value or a payment instrument, the party size it covers, any minimum age, any limit on how many of this Deal you may hold, and any licence-related condition. Candyll does not add unstated conditions after you confirm;
- (r) The documents that apply, and their versions — these Slot Booking Terms, the Terms of Service, the Deal Pass Terms, the Privacy Policy, the Merchant Terms, and any Merchant-specific terms for this Deal, each shown with the version in force, which is then recorded in your snapshot (section 3).
You confirm you have reviewed these terms by an affirmative action (the "Agree & book" step), which is never pre-selected for you and which you can go back and correct before you take it. That action is your acceptance of the Slot Booking, and your booking is confirmed at that moment (section 1.5).
3. The booking-contract snapshot (immutable) and your durable copy
3.1 At the moment you book, Candyll records an immutable snapshot of the disclosed terms in section 2, together with the time you accepted and the version of these Slot Booking Terms then in force. 3.2 The snapshot is descriptive only. It records no money held, no balance, and no payment — consistent with the pay-at-store model. 3.3 The snapshot is your durable copy: it remains available to you on your Deal Pass and does not change if the Merchant later edits the underlying Deal. What you agreed to is what is preserved — the price, the appointment, the party size, and the cancellation, rescheduling, late-arrival and no-show rules that were shown to you. A Merchant may change its future availability and its future offer terms, but a Merchant change never applies backwards to a booking you have already confirmed; a change takes effect only for bookings made afterwards. No Merchant, and no Candyll administrator, can overwrite the snapshot: where a correction is genuinely needed it is added as a separate, logged amendment — with your consent where the law requires it — and the original stays visible to you. 3.4 How you can get your copy. Your durable copy is available to you through the channels Candyll operates: in the Candyll app, on the Deal Pass itself; on the Candyll website, on your Deal Pass and on a separate printable booking-copy page; and as a copy you can keep — you can download the copy as a file or print it (including printing to PDF) from that page, and save or share the same copy from the app. Where Candyll has enabled email delivery of booking copies, a copy is also sent to the email address on your account; a copy is prepared for email delivery for every booking. Candyll records each delivery of your copy. A failed or delayed delivery does not affect your booking or the snapshot — the booking record stands, and the copy remains available to you on the Platform.
3.5 The app is where your copy lives; a notification is only an alert. Candyll does not depend on email to give you your copy. When your booking is confirmed we may send you a push notification or an in-app notice saying so — that message is an alert, never the contract copy itself. Your copy is the snapshot in the Platform (section 3.4), and if you turn push notifications off, receive no email, or delete the message, you can still open, print, and download your copy in the app and on the website at any time, for as long as the record is retained (Terms of Service, Sections 14.4 and 15.5).
4. Price, fees and tax
4.1 You pay the Merchant directly, in person, at the price shown. Candyll never charges you and holds no funds. 4.2 Candyll charges you no mandatory platform fee for a Slot Booking. Any mandatory fee shown is the Merchant's. 4.3 Government sales taxes (GST/PST as applicable) are charged and remitted by the Merchant at the store.
5. Cancellation and rescheduling
5.1 You may cancel free of charge within the stated cancellation window (shown before you book and preserved in your snapshot). 5.2 To reschedule, cancel before the cancellation deadline and book a new time. 5.3 If the Merchant cancels your appointment. A Merchant may cancel or change a slot, but only through the Platform and only with a reason: the Merchant must select a reason code and give a written explanation, and a cancellation submitted without one is refused. When a Merchant cancels a slot you have booked:
- We tell you right away — the Merchant, the appointment time, the reason code and the Merchant's written explanation.
- The Deal Pass for that appointment is voided, because the Merchant is not delivering that service at that time. Your durable copy of the booking (section 3) stays available to you, unchanged.
- Your place is released, not lost. The cancelled booking no longer counts against how many bookings you may hold, so you can book another time for the same Deal straight away; we show you the available alternative times where there are any, and the Merchant must offer an alternative where one exists (Merchant Terms, Section 7.4).
- Where booking again yourself is not the right answer — for example there is no suitable alternative time, or the cancellation was caused by an event beyond the Merchant's control — Candyll may restore your Deal Pass onto another available time for the same Deal, or extend how long it stays valid, at the same price and party size (Deal Pass Terms, Section 7.2). This is a correction Candyll administers on review; it is not a benefit you can demand and not something the Merchant can grant or withhold.
- It never counts against you. A Merchant cancellation is recorded as the Merchant's, is never treated as your no-show, and has no effect on your reliability standing or your booking limits (section 6). If you ever see it counted against you, tell us and we will correct the record.
- No money moves, because none ever did — you paid Candyll nothing and Candyll holds no funds. Anything you have already paid the Merchant is a matter between you and the Merchant, and your rights under British Columbia law are unaffected.
The cancellation is recorded on the Merchant's account, and repeated Merchant cancellations are reviewed by a person (Merchant Terms, Section 16.1).
5.4 Events beyond either party's control (force majeure). Neither you nor Candyll is responsible for a failure or delay caused by an event beyond that party's reasonable control — for example extreme weather, fire, a public-health order, government action, a power or telecommunications failure, or an outage of a service the Platform relies on. This is never a reason to ignore a confirmed booking or a valid Deal Pass: it excuses only what the event actually prevents, and only for as long as it prevents it, and a Merchant may not use it to cancel for commercial reasons (Merchant Terms, Section 21.8; Terms of Service, Section 36.3). Where an appointment genuinely cannot go ahead, or cannot go ahead safely, the cancellation follows section 5.3 in full — reason, immediate notice, an alternative time where one exists, restoration or extension of the Deal Pass where that is appropriate, and no effect on your reliability standing. Nothing in this section limits any right you have under British Columbia consumer protection law that cannot be waived, and nothing in it creates any credit, refund, or payment from Candyll, which never took your money.
6. No-show and reliability
6.1 If you do not attend, there is no charge — you never paid Candyll. 6.2 Repeated no-shows may temporarily reduce how many active bookings you can hold, or add a short cool-down, under Candyll's reliability controls. These are limits on new bookings only. Candyll does not automatically suspend accounts for no-shows; any account action is by manual review. 6.3 No Candyll deposit or no-show fee. Candyll charges no deposit and no monetary no-show fee for a Slot Booking. Any deposit, cancellation, or no-show charge is the Merchant's own in-store term, disclosed on the Deal page and applied by the Merchant directly — Candyll neither collects nor enforces it.
7. One-person appointments; no default overbooking
7.1 For one-person appointment services (for example hair, massage, pet grooming, detailing), a slot's default capacity is one, and Candyll does not overbook or double-book unique appointment slots by default.
8. Not a prepaid purchase card
8.1 A Deal Pass issued for a Slot Booking is proof of eligibility for the described appointment. It carries no money, is never sold to you, and is not a prepaid purchase card under the BPCPA.
9. Changes; conflicts; governing law
9.1 Candyll may update these Slot Booking Terms prospectively; the version in force when you booked is recorded in your snapshot and governs that booking. 9.2 British Columbia law governs. 9.3 British Columbia's consumer-contract changes from August 1, 2026. British Columbia has amended its consumer protection legislation, and part of that reform applies to consumer contracts entered into or renewed on or after August 1, 2026. A booking you confirm on or after that date is governed by the version of these Slot Booking Terms in force at that moment (section 9.1) together with any of those amended requirements that apply to it; a booking confirmed before that date keeps the terms recorded in its own snapshot. Where an amended requirement applies and anything in these Slot Booking Terms would give you less, the statutory requirement prevails. The disclosure in section 2, the affirmative acceptance step, the ability to correct your details before you confirm, the immutable durable copy in section 3, and the cancellation, rescheduling and no-show rules in sections 5 and 6 are designed to meet those requirements, and Candyll will keep them aligned as the changes come into force. This section does not classify any booking under the amended legislation or the Business Practices and Consumer Protection Act, and nothing in these Slot Booking Terms limits, delays, or conditions a right that legislation gives you (Terms of Service, Section 40.5).
