This Policy is part of the Candyll Terms of Service and is incorporated into them by reference. It explains how joining, cancelling, redeeming, and refunds work under Candyll's pay-at-store model. Read it together with the Deal Pass Terms and the Merchant Terms. Nothing in this Policy reduces any right you have under the law of British Columbia or Canada that cannot be waived — if any part of this Policy conflicts with such a right, the right wins.

The key points

  • Candyll never processes your payment and never charges your card. There is nothing for Candyll to refund, because Candyll never takes your money.
  • Joining a Deal is a free Pledge, not a purchase. Before the group price locks, you can leave at any time, for free.
  • You pay the Merchant directly, at the store, when you redeem your Deal Pass. The Merchant is the seller.
  • The Merchant handles every refund, exchange, and return for what you actually buy — because the Merchant, not Candyll, sold it to you and took your payment.
  • A Deal Pass has no monetary value. If it expires unused, nothing is charged and there is nothing to refund — you never paid for it.
  • The cancellation, rescheduling, late-arrival, and no-show rules are shown to you before you confirm, and those are the rules that apply — they are captured in the durable copy you keep. A no-show is never charged by Candyll.
  • Your legal rights come first. Your British Columbia consumer rights apply to the in-store purchase contract between you and the Merchant, no matter what this Policy or a Deal page says.

This box is a plain-language summary. The numbered sections below are the operative terms.

1. What this Policy covers and how it fits with other documents

1.1 This Policy applies to your use of the Candyll website (candyll.com) and the Candyll mobile app (together, the "Platform") to discover Deals, Pledge, reach Final Confirmation, receive a Deal Pass, and redeem it at a Merchant.

1.2 Candyll is a discovery and group-coordination platform only. Candyll is not the seller, does not process customer payments, holds no customer funds, and is not the merchant of record for any purchase. The Merchant is the seller in every underlying purchase. The actual sale happens directly between you and the Merchant, and you pay the Merchant directly, normally in person at the store ("pay-at-store"), using the Merchant's own payment methods. The Terms of Service explain Candyll's marketplace role in full.

1.3 Because Candyll never takes your payment, Candyll issues no refunds to customers. All refunds, exchanges, returns, price-adjustments, and product or service issues for the actual purchase are between you and the Merchant, who is solely responsible for them. This Policy tells you what Candyll does and does not do; the Merchant's own return and refund practices, and your statutory rights against the Merchant, govern the money.

1.4 Order of precedence on cancellation and refund topics: (a) rights under applicable law that cannot be waived come first; (b) then the terms of the in-store purchase contract you form with the Merchant, and the Merchant's disclosed return/refund practices; (c) then the deal-specific terms shown on a Deal page (such as its redemption window). This Policy governs Candyll's role — Pledge, Final Confirmation, Deal Pass issuance, and Redemption support — and does not govern the money for the in-store sale, which Candyll never touches.

1.5 Related documents: the Terms of Service, the Deal Pass Terms (what a Deal Pass is and is not), the Slot Booking Terms (how an appointment is confirmed, and the cancellation, rescheduling, late-arrival, and no-show rules disclosed before you confirm), the Merchant Terms (the Merchant's obligation to honour the Final Locked Price and handle tax, receipts, refunds, and exchanges), the Platform Access & Suspension Policy, and the Privacy Policy.

2. Words used in this Policy

  • Candyll / we / us — Candyll, operator of the Platform.
  • Customer / you — an individual with a Candyll account who browses Deals, Pledges, or redeems a Deal Pass.
  • Merchant — the business listed on the Platform that offers Deals and is the seller in every underlying purchase. The Merchant takes your payment directly and issues your receipt.
  • Deal — an offer by a Merchant listed on the Platform whose price may improve as more people join.
  • Pledge — your free, non-binding expression of interest in a Deal. A Pledge is not a payment, not a purchase, and not a completed sale. No card is charged or saved, and no money moves, when you Pledge.
  • Final Confirmation — the second, deliberate step in which you confirm you still want the Deal. Only Final Confirmed Participants count toward the Final Locked Price. Final Confirmation is not a guaranteed sale and does not obligate you to attend or buy.
  • Final Confirmed Participant — a Customer who has completed Final Confirmation for a Deal.
  • Final Locked Price — the group price that is locked once enough Final Confirmed Participants are reached. A Merchant must honour the Final Locked Price for an eligible Deal Pass holder.
  • Deal Pass — the proof of eligibility Candyll issues to a Final Confirmed Participant only after the Final Locked Price locks. A Deal Pass shows that you qualified and the Final Locked Price that applies to you. A Deal Pass is not a payment method, not stored value, not a coupon balance, not a gift card, and has no monetary value (see the Deal Pass Terms).
  • Redemption — buying the goods or services directly from the Merchant, at the store, and paying the Merchant directly, after the Platform verifies your Deal Pass eligibility.

3. What happens at each step (quick recap)

3.1 Pledge. When you Pledge, nothing is charged, no card is saved, and you owe nothing. A Pledge simply registers your interest so the Deal can move toward its group threshold.

3.2 Final Confirmation. Confirming does not charge you and is not a guaranteed sale. It only marks you as a Final Confirmed Participant who counts toward the Final Locked Price.

3.3 Final Price Lock and Deal Pass. Once enough Final Confirmed Participants are reached, the Final Locked Price locks and Candyll issues your Deal Pass. The Deal Pass carries no money and stores no value.

3.4 Redemption (pay-at-store). You visit the Merchant, the Platform verifies your Deal Pass eligibility, and you buy directly from the Merchant and pay the Merchant at the store. The Merchant issues your receipt and is solely responsible for applicable taxes.

3.5 No Candyll charge, ever. Candyll does not charge you at any step — not at Pledge, not at Final Confirmation, not at Final Price Lock, and not at Redemption. Candyll does not receive or hold the Merchant's sales proceeds and does not refund customer purchases.

4. Cancelling before the Final Locked Price locks — always free

4.1 You can leave any time before lock, for free. Before a Deal's Final Locked Price locks, you may withdraw a Pledge or a Final Confirmation at any time, directly from the Platform, at no cost and with no penalty to the money side — because you have not paid anything and no card is on file.

4.2 If a Deal never reaches its threshold, it simply does not lock. No Deal Pass is issued, nobody is charged, and there is nothing to refund. We notify you that the Deal did not proceed.

4.3 Withdrawing after lock. Once the Final Locked Price has locked and your Deal Pass has issued, you can still choose not to redeem it — you are never obligated to visit or buy (Section 6). Withdrawing simply means you do not use the Deal Pass; there is no charge and nothing to refund. Repeatedly reserving Deal Passes and not redeeming them may affect your access under the reliability limits described in the Platform Access & Suspension Policy, but it never creates a debt or a charge.

4.4 The rules you were shown before you confirmed are the rules that apply. Before you complete Final Confirmation — and, for a Slot Booking, before your appointment is confirmed — the Platform shows you the terms that will govern it: the Merchant and what is being supplied, the Candyll Group Price, the date, time, and location where that applies, and the cancellation, rescheduling, late-arrival, and no-show rules for that Deal. You can go back and correct your details before you confirm. Once you confirm, a durable copy of those terms is made available to you in the app and stays available to you. A Merchant cannot change those rules retroactively for a booking that is already confirmed — a later edit to the Deal applies only to bookings made afterwards (see the Slot Booking Terms and the Merchant Terms). If what you were shown before confirming differs from what the Merchant later says, the copy you were given governs.

5. Refunds, exchanges, and returns are handled by the Merchant

5.1 The Merchant is the seller and handles the money. When you redeem a Deal Pass and pay the Merchant at the store, you enter a purchase contract with the Merchant. Any refund, exchange, return, repair, price-adjustment, or resolution of a product or service problem is between you and the Merchant, under the Merchant's own practices and applicable law. Candyll does not process, approve, deny, fund, or pay any refund for that purchase, because Candyll never received the payment.

5.2 How to seek a refund or exchange. Contact the Merchant directly, using the receipt the Merchant gave you and the Merchant's stated return or refund process. Your statutory consumer rights (Section 7) apply to that purchase contract with the Merchant.

5.3 The Merchant issues the receipt and handles tax. The Merchant, as seller, issues your receipt and is solely responsible for charging, collecting, reporting, and remitting any applicable tax (including GST/HST and BC PST) on the sale, and for any tax adjustment on a refund or exchange. The only price shown on the Platform is the Candyll Group Price, and it is a pre-tax amount only; Candyll displays no regular price, comparison price, percentage-off figure, or savings figure.

5.4 If a Merchant will not honour a valid Deal Pass. While a Deal Pass is valid and unredeemed within its window, the Merchant must honour the Final Locked Price for the described Deal (Merchant Terms; Deal Pass Terms). If a Merchant refuses a valid Deal Pass or does not deliver what was described, that is a matter between you and the Merchant. You may report it to us at customersupport@candyll.com; Candyll may record the Merchant's conduct and act under the Merchant Terms, but Candyll does not owe you the price difference or any refund, because Candyll is not the seller and holds no funds.

5.5 What Candyll does do. Candyll supports Deal eligibility and Redemption verification, and can help you get in touch with a Merchant. That support does not make Candyll the seller, a guarantor of any Merchant, or a party to your purchase.

6. No-shows and unused Deal Passes — no charge

6.1 You are never obligated to attend or buy. Pledging, Final Confirming, qualifying, or holding a Deal Pass does not obligate you to visit or purchase, and Candyll does not guarantee that any Final Confirmation results in an actual visit or sale.

6.2 An expired or unused Deal Pass costs you nothing. A Deal Pass is valid for a single Redemption within its stated window and expires at the end of that window. If a Deal Pass expires unused, or you miss the window, there is no charge and nothing to refund — you never paid for the Deal Pass, and it never held any money.

6.3 Reliability limits, not penalties. To protect Merchants from abuse, Candyll uses lightweight automated limits (for example, a cap on how many active Pledges you can hold at once, and short cooldowns after repeated missed Deal Passes). These are access limits, described in the Platform Access & Suspension Policy; they are not monetary penalties, forfeitures, or charges, and any account suspension is reviewed by a person before it takes effect.

6.4 Cancelling or rescheduling an appointment. For a Slot Booking, the cancellation and rescheduling rules for that appointment — including any notice period the Merchant sets and how late arrival is treated — are the ones disclosed to you before you confirmed (Section 4.4) and recorded in your durable copy. You cancel or, where the Merchant allows it, reschedule from the Platform or by contacting the Merchant, as those rules describe. Candyll charges nothing for cancelling, rescheduling, or arriving late, and takes nothing from you if you do — Candyll holds none of your money. Because you have paid nothing in advance, a Merchant's cancellation or no-show rules cannot result in Candyll deducting or forfeiting any amount. If a Merchant asks you for a fee of its own in connection with a missed or late-cancelled appointment, that is a matter between you and the Merchant under the terms it disclosed and applicable law, including the non-waivable rights in Section 7.

6.5 A no-show is never a charge. If you do not attend, Candyll does not charge you, does not bill you, and does not pass any amount to the Merchant on your behalf — there is no card on file and no Candyll payment to take. A missed appointment or an unredeemed Deal Pass may be recorded so the Merchant's availability can be released and the reliability limits below can work, and repeated no-shows may affect your access to the Platform, but it never creates a debt to Candyll.

7. Your rights under British Columbia law (against the Merchant)

7.1 Your statutory consumer rights apply to the purchase contract you form with the Merchant at the store — not to any Candyll transaction, because Candyll never sells to you or takes your payment. British Columbia consumer protection law gives consumers certain rights that no contract, policy, or Deal page can take away. In plain language, these can include:

  • a right to cancel and receive a refund from the supplier where goods or services are not supplied within the time the law or your contract requires;
  • rights where required pre-contract information was not disclosed before you agreed to buy; and
  • other non-waivable rights depending on how and where the contract was formed.

7.2 Who the "supplier" is. Because the sale and the payment happen directly between you and the Merchant at the store, the Merchant is the supplier for these statutory purposes, and the refund the law requires is owed and paid by the Merchant. Candyll is not the supplier of the goods or services and does not collect or hold the price.

7.3 These rights are never gated by Candyll. Candyll operates no refund-review process for the in-store sale — there is nothing for Candyll to gate, because Candyll never holds the money. Your statutory rights are exercised against the Merchant. Candyll does not approve, deny, fund, or pay a refund, and does not act as the Merchant's decision-maker on one; where the law requires a refund, the Merchant owes it and the Merchant pays it, at the store.

7.4 Changes to British Columbia consumer-contract law taking effect on August 1, 2026. British Columbia has amended its consumer-contract rules, and the amended requirements apply to consumer contracts entered into or renewed on or after August 1, 2026. A contract you formed before that date continues to be governed by the rules in force when you formed it. We are reviewing our disclosures, our pre-confirmation screens, and this Policy against the amended requirements, and we will update them as needed so that the information given to you before you confirm, and the cancellation rights described here, meet the rules that apply to your contract. Two things do not change: the in-store purchase contract is between you and the Merchant (Section 7.2), and nothing in this Policy reduces a right you have under British Columbia or Canadian law that cannot be waived — if the amended rules give you more than this Policy describes, the law wins.

8. Fair use

8.1 The Platform's Pledge, Final Confirmation, and Deal Pass features exist to coordinate genuine group purchases. Using false information, multiple or coordinated accounts, or automated means to obtain Deal Passes, to manipulate a group threshold, or to abuse Merchants may lead to action under the Platform Access & Suspension Policy.

8.2 Enforcement is about Platform access only. Because Candyll holds no customer funds, no enforcement action ever takes money that belongs to you — there is no customer balance, deposit, or stored value to lose.

9. Changes to this Policy

9.1 We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced with reasonable advance notice by email or in-app notice before they take effect.

9.2 Changes are prospective only and never reduce a right attached to a Deal Pass already issued to you, or any right you have under applicable law that cannot be waived.
