1. What This Is
Candyll works because neighbours, local businesses, and our team treat each other fairly. This page is a short, friendly summary of how to be a good member of the community.
This summary is not a contract. The binding rules live in the Terms of Service and the Policies listed in Section 5. If anything here reads differently from those documents, the binding documents win.
2. Please Do
- Join freely — a Pledge costs nothing. Joining a Deal is a free Pledge, not a payment or a purchase. Nothing is ever charged on Candyll.
- Follow through on your Deal Passes. When enough people complete Final Confirmation and the group price locks — the Deal "unlocks" — you receive a Deal Pass. Others were counting on you, so redeem it at the Merchant during the stated window if you plan to buy.
- Check your booking before you confirm, and keep your copy. For an appointment, Candyll shows you the whole booking first — merchant, service, time, price, and the cancellation, no-show and merchant-cancellation rules — and you can go back and fix anything. Once you confirm, your booking is confirmed straight away and a fixed copy of it is kept on your Deal Pass in the app.
- Remember you pay the Merchant directly. When you redeem a Deal Pass, you buy from and pay the Merchant at the store. The Merchant is the seller and gives you your receipt.
- Post only what's yours. Photos and words you upload should be your own, or something you clearly have permission to use.
- Review honestly. Rate the purchases you actually made, based on your real experience. Your star rating helps neighbours; your written comments go privately to Candyll only — never to the business.
- Be kind. Merchants, their staff, other customers, and our support team are all people. Treat them the way you would in person.
- Keep your account yours. Use a strong password, keep it private, and tell us right away if something looks wrong (see the Account Security Policy).
- Tell us when something is off. A Merchant that won't honour a valid Deal Pass, a suspicious message, a listing that seems misleading — including a claim about a product being "eco", organic, recyclable, or sustainable that doesn't look right — reach us at customersupport@candyll.com. Those claims come from the business, not from Candyll, and showing one isn't Candyll certifying it; when you report one we can ask the business for its evidence, add a clarification, take the claim down, or pause the deal. Reporting is a way to help, never an obligation.
3. Please Don't
- Don't fake it. No fake accounts, no fake Pledges or Final Confirmations to tip a Deal over its threshold (or to block one), no fake or paid-for reviews.
- Don't review your own business — or a competitor's. That includes staff and family doing it for you.
- Don't game Deal Passes. Don't copy, share, sell, or transfer a Deal Pass, and don't try to redeem one that isn't yours, has expired, or was already used.
- Don't harass or threaten anyone. Hate, harassment, and abuse have no place here, in any message, review, or listing.
- Don't abuse a Merchant's refund process. Because you pay the Merchant directly, refunds, exchanges, and returns are handled by the Merchant for the actual sale — don't make false or dishonest claims to a Merchant.
- Don't share store QR codes, and report honestly. A store's Candyll QR code is for in-person use at that store — don't post, share, or photograph it for others to use. If you flag a price or an issue, be truthful; false, exaggerated, or manipulated reports aren't okay.
- Don't post content that isn't yours. Don't upload photos, videos, logos, menus, artwork, or text you copied from Google or Maps, from social media, from another marketplace, or from a business's or competitor's website, unless you have the owner's permission. If someone complains about something you posted, work with us on it and take it down or replace it when we ask. If you think someone has used your content, write to admin@candyll.com and we'll look into it.
- Don't scrape, resell, or game the Platform. Automated data harvesting, reselling Deals without permission, and bypassing security or the reliability limits are all off-limits.
4. What Happens if Someone Breaks the Rules
Lightweight, automated reliability limits (like a cap on how many active Pledges you can hold, and short cooldowns after repeated missed Deal Passes) may apply on their own — but any actual suspension is reviewed by a person at Candyll, never decided by a hidden score. Most issues start with a conversation or a warning; serious ones (fraud, safety risks, unlawful conduct) can lead to immediate suspension. You always get a chance to tell your side and to appeal. Candyll holds no money of yours, so enforcement never takes your money — anything you already paid a Merchant is between you and the Merchant. The full process is in the Platform Access & Suspension Policy.
