1. Our Commitment
Candyll wants everyone in the communities we serve to be able to discover local businesses, join Deals, and manage their account — regardless of ability. We are committed to making the candyll.com website and the Candyll mobile app (together, the "Platform") accessible and easy to use for people with disabilities, and to improving continuously as we grow.
This Statement describes the standard we are working toward, what we have done so far, where we know we fall short, and how to reach us if something gets in your way.
2. The Standard We Aim For
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA across the Platform — the widely used benchmark for digital accessibility in Canada. As of this version, the Platform is not yet fully conformant; this is a target we are actively working toward, not a claim of current conformance.
3. What We Are Doing
Measures we take to improve accessibility include:
- Readable colour and contrast. The Platform uses a design system with defined colour tokens and full light- and dark-mode support, designed with contrast in mind.
- Screen-reader support. We label interactive elements (buttons, navigation tabs, form fields) so assistive technologies can announce them, and we work to keep those labels accurate as the product changes.
- Keyboard navigation. We work to keep core web flows — browsing, joining and confirming a Deal, redeeming a Deal Pass, and account management — operable by keyboard, with visible focus states.
- Meaningful images. We work to provide text alternatives for meaningful images, and to avoid conveying information by colour alone.
- Plain language. We write product copy and policies (like this one) in plain language, in short sentences.
- Accessibility in our process. We consider accessibility when designing new features and review the Platform against the standard in Section 2 on a recurring basis.
4. Known Limitations
We are still improving, and some parts of the Platform may not yet work well with every assistive technology. Known areas of ongoing work include:
- screen-reader labelling consistency across the mobile app, including custom controls such as selection menus and the navigation bar;
- alternative text coverage for merchant-supplied images, which merchants provide and we cannot always control; and
- full keyboard-only coverage of every secondary web flow.
If you hit a barrier not listed here, please tell us — it helps us fix the right things first.
5. Feedback, Help, and Alternate Formats
If any part of the Platform is difficult or impossible for you to use:
- Contact us at customersupport@candyll.com and describe what you were trying to do and what got in the way. Please include your device and any assistive technology you use, if you are comfortable sharing that.
- We aim to respond within 5 business days.
- Alternate formats and assistance. If you cannot complete an action on the Platform because of an accessibility barrier, we will work with you to complete it another way, and we can provide the content of our public policies in an alternate format on request.
Feedback about accessibility is used only to address the issue and improve the Platform, and is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
6. Accessibility Law in British Columbia
Candyll operates in British Columbia. The Accessible British Columbia Act establishes a framework of accessibility requirements that currently applies to prescribed (mainly public-sector) organizations and is expected to extend further over time; we monitor whether and when its requirements will apply to businesses like ours and intend to meet them when they do. Independent of that framework, we recognize our obligations under the BC Human Rights Code not to discriminate in services offered to the public, and we treat digital accessibility as part of meeting that obligation.
7. Review of This Statement
We review this Statement, and our progress against the standard in Section 2, at least once every 12 months and whenever we make major changes to the Platform. This Statement is informational: it describes our commitment and practices, and it is not a contract. Nothing in it limits rights you have under applicable law.
